Dan is completing the Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching (PCEC) at Henley Business School, University of Reading. Please read all sections carefully before completing the consent section below. Providing consent is entirely voluntary and will not affect your eligibility for coaching.

What recordings will be used for
Recordings, transcripts and personal data collected on this form may be used for the following purposes. You will be asked in the consent section to indicate separately which of these you agree to.
- To support Dan's development as part of the PCEC programme at Henley Business School, University of Reading.
- To be reviewed by Henley Business School tutors and external examiners for the purposes of assessing and supporting Dan's progress on the programme.
- To be shared with Dan's coaching supervisor, Sarah Leach of Stride Consultancy (strideconsultancy.co.uk), for the purposes of professional supervision.
- To support applications for professional accreditation with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), or equivalent professional coaching bodies.
How sessions will be recorded
Sessions may be recorded using Microsoft Teams or Zoom. You will be asked below which platform(s) you consent to. Both offer automated transcription — where enabled, the transcript is subject to the same protections as the recording itself.
For information on international data transfers associated with each platform and with professional accreditation bodies, see the full legal detail below.
How your data is stored
Recordings and transcripts are stored securely within Dan's Microsoft 365 Business account and OneDrive, held in EU Microsoft datacentres. They are retained only for as long as there is an active and legitimate purpose for doing so — for example, while the PCEC programme or a subsequent accreditation process is ongoing — and deleted promptly once that purpose is fulfilled. In all cases, data held by Dan is deleted no later than five years from the date of this consent.
Where recordings are shared with third parties as described in Section 1, those parties hold their own copies as independent Data Controllers, each responsible for their own data protection compliance.
What you can do
Withdraw consent: Email admin@danmargetts.com at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing. Dan will delete recordings from his own systems promptly, will notify third parties with whom recordings were shared and request deletion on your behalf using reasonable endeavours, and will provide details of those parties so you may contact them directly. Dan cannot guarantee third-party compliance as those parties may have their own legitimate reasons to retain data.
Access, correction and deletion: Email admin@danmargetts.com to request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of any personal data Dan holds about you.
Complain: You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. UK: Information Commissioner's Office. Other EU countries: the authority in your country of residence.
For your full rights under data protection law, including restriction, portability, and the right to object, see the full legal detail below.
A few further points
This agreement does not transfer or assign any rights in your contribution to Dan Margetts or to Henley Business School, other than as expressly set out above.
Declining to give consent for any recording will not affect your eligibility for coaching.
Dan processes your personal data on the basis of your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Coaching sessions may give rise to special category personal data within the meaning of Article 9 GDPR — including data relating to health, mental health, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other sensitive matters. Your consent under this form extends explicitly to any such data arising during your session(s), processed on the basis of Article 9(2)(a) GDPR.
Providing consent is entirely voluntary. It is not a statutory or contractual requirement and is not a condition of receiving coaching. If you choose not to provide consent, or to limit it to specific purposes or recording types, the only consequence is that sessions cannot be recorded or that recordings cannot be used for the purposes you have not consented to.
Microsoft Teams: Recordings are processed within Dan's Microsoft 365 Business account, held in EU datacentres. No international transfer occurs.
Zoom: Zoom Inc. is GDPR-compliant. Where processing occurs on servers outside the EU, your data is protected under Standard Contractual Clauses in accordance with Article 46(2)(c) GDPR.
Sarah Leach / Stride Consultancy: UK-based. The European Commission renewed the UK adequacy decision under GDPR in December 2025, valid until December 2031. Transfers to UK-based parties require no additional safeguards.
EMCC Global: Incorporated in Belgium and itself subject to GDPR. Sharing recordings with EMCC Global is an intra-EU transfer and requires no additional safeguards.
ICF (International Coaching Federation): Headquartered in the United States, which does not benefit from a general EU adequacy decision. Recordings submitted to ICF may be transferred to the United States. Any such transfer is made solely on the basis of your explicit informed consent under Article 49(1)(a) GDPR. You are advised that data protection standards in the US may not be equivalent to those in the EU and that US authorities may have access to data under US law in ways not available under EU law. You may withdraw this consent at any time by emailing admin@danmargetts.com.
Where Dan shares recordings or transcripts with third parties as described in Section 1, those parties become independent Data Controllers for the copies they hold, each responsible for their own compliance with applicable data protection law.
